The Challenge:

A world-renowned manufacturer in the aerospace sector required a new senior executive to head up their commercial operations across Europe due to an internal promotion. The role required managing a large team and significant travel to meet with customers. The search needed to be conducted confidentially whilst the incumbent was still in place and additionally, the client wanted to gain a better understanding of the candidate market, including compensation expectations.  

The Solution:

Abstract Head of Talent, Emily worked closely with the Chief Commercial Officer and Senior HR team to understand their requirements before undertaking comprehensive market mapping to identify and confidentially engage suitable candidates. The longlist was reviewed in collaboration with client stakeholders before company details were revealed to a refined list of candidates.  

Thorough interviews were then conducted with a shortlist of candidates to assess their commercial capability, sales background, P&L management experience, and leadership style. Detailed candidate reports were presented to the hiring team and Emily remained on hand to support the client through their decision-making and offer negotiation process, remaining the successful candidate’s key contact through this period.

The Outcome:

Emily was able to provide research led solution, providing the client with a diverse range of candidates whilst maintaining the confidential nature of the vacancy.  Thorough assessments and the production of detailed reports ensured there were no surprises for the client once their interviews commenced. Emily supported the client team throughout the process, operating as an extension of their team, ensuring the successful candidate was a match for the organisation’s requirements and remained engaged throughout the hiring process.
