Provision of Non-Executive Candidates for a Newly Established Private Equity Firm

The Challenge:

A newly established private equity firm required access to a pool of experienced Non-Executives to support with due diligence activity across a range of potential investments in their pipeline.  

Candidates needed to have appropriate sector experience, with the capacity to pick up due diligence work. Ideally the candidates would also have the experience and capacity to take on a non-executive role should the investment go ahead.   

The Solution:

The sector expertise required of the candidates was niche and so Abstract Head of Talent, Emily, undertook detailed research to pinpoint candidates from similar and complimentary sectors.  

These candidate profiles were presented to the Managing Partners for discussion, whereupon it was decided which candidates should be engaged.  Emily then engaged the candidates on a confidential basis to ascertain suitability and interest before being introduced to the Managing Partners under NDA.

The Outcome:

The private equity firm gained access to a curated pool of candidates to support with both current and future mandates and potential non-executive roles.  

This approach also provided the firm with valuable insights into the candidate market for Non-Executive Chair positions, preparing them to go to market effectively with these roles when needed.
